After a hiatus of over a decade Sydney underground label Cliq is back with a vinyl release to remind us of how lethal Australian techno can be. Originally distributed in the early 2000s by German distributor Neuton and heavily support by Detroit legends Derrick May and co this new release is a solid contribution to the new era of techno.
Titled the "Method EP", this is the latest release from the brother from another planet Biz and is a four track EP of serious bottom-end techno… Now based in the jungle of east Australia, Biz is one of the original pioneers of techno in the southern hemisphere. His first releases were through Kudos in the early nineties, then via Prime in the UK in the late nineties. He has remixed the likes of Green Velvet and was responsible for founding and developing the techno sound in Sydney via radio shows, running three record stores, and touring all the key “real” techno artists of the last 20 years. His last release was charted number 1 in Dave Clarke’s techno charts.
Disillusioned by the digital era the opportunity to release vinyl again has got the man psyched.
